“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.” Isaiah 26:3-4
We can be a tired mind people. Let’s get to it. What is the first thing you go to, to quiet your mind? Who is the first person you turn to when you get a mini break and you just want to get out and breathe? Where do you run to when you just can take it anymore, and you’ve gone to it or them or there time and time again and its given you some sort of false release, but would it really be a place to find perfect steady peace if you keep having to go to it, them, or there when unrest comes again, when anxiety comes again, when insecurity pops in again?
For me, at first I would find rest in working out and playing sports because it was the only thing that I really had at the time, I didn’t really have any friends that I could rely on like that, so it wasn’t who I ran too. We all have that place, thing or someone(s) that we run too when it is all looking like it is going to hay. but what if before anything we stepped back and when we get a little heated, when we get a little unsteady, what if we looked up, what if we actually took a breath before texting somebody, took a breath before going on our phone to scroll to just scroll and get even more unsteady because now you are looking at world news, peoples achievements and now getting upset for now being where you think you should be, what if you took a breath before you start to just binge your show for the rest of the night with your latte in hand or tea, maybe some ice cream, what does that really do for you anyways? Really think about it, if your reading this I pray you pause from reading this, crack your journal open and write down “what does doing what I do for peace really doing for me anyways? am I really at peace after it? am I really in trusting mode with the Lord when I do all these things?”
TAKE SOME TIME AND WRITE IT DOWN.
“For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning (repentance) and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” But you were unwilling,” Isaiah 30:15
There is something that the Lord is telling us in this verse. Which you may have seen. It is super simple to find rest. Come back to Him. Return to the One who makes all things new, and takes what is broken and makes it whole again, heals what has been impossible in this worlds hands to heal but not in His hands when we drop to our knees, extend our hearts and hands and trust Him. In repenting, telling the Lord I have wanted to see my way done, my desires fulfilled, these people in my life; even though we know they are not the ones that are helping us seek God all the more and go deeper into communion with God. He says in this and resting in Him is where we will be saved. Saved from allowing the world to trip us up. Saved from allowing peoples thoughts about us get us to a place where now we are striving for them to see us and accept us, or when we mess up, break a trust, we allow the Lord to be the one who holds our head high and teaches us what we could do better and how we can love and listen and stay quiet better to honor Him and those he puts into our life to walk with. When we return, repent and rest in Him and His deep love for us, we can walk in such a way where those around see us and say, they are unfazed and steadfast. Their trust is in no one else but God.
Have you heard the song, the rock won’t move, the chorus goes like this:
Oh, the Rock won’t move and His word is strong
The Rock won’t move and His love can’t be undone
The Rock won’t move and His word is strong
The Rock won’t move and His love can’t be undone
The Rock of our Salvation
Isaiah writes, that we will be saved when we put our full trust on the Rock of our Salvation. BUT. YES THERE IS A BUT, it says in Isaiah 30:15, but you were unwilling. Unwilling to return, unwilling to repent, unwilling to rest.
Read The Verses before in Isaiah 30:9-16
“For they are a rebellious people, lying children, children unwilling to hear the instruction of the Lord; who say to the seers, “Do not see,” and to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us what is right; speak to us ; smooth things, prophesy illusions, leave the way, turn aside from the path, let us hear no more about the Holy One of Israel.” Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel, “Because you despise this word and trust in oppression and perverseness and rely on them, therefore this iniquity shall be to you like a breach in a high wall, bulging out and about to collapse, whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant; and its breaking is like that of a potter’s vessel that is smashed so ruthlessly that among its fragments not a shard is found with which to take fire from the hearth, or to dip up water out of the cistern.” For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In repentance and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” But you were unwilling, and you said, “No! We will flee upon horses”; therefore you shall flee away; and, “We will ride upon swift steeds”; therefore your pursuers shall be swift.”
Rebellious and lying children that is how they were labeled. Is that how we want to be seen by the Lord God, that we are so stuck in our rebellious ways, lying to ourselves and others about where we really are, or maybe not even lying, walking in such a way where we are choosing to do the opposite of what the Holy One says, when what He says, is what’s good for us, its what will heal us, stretch us, ignite us, give us the confidence we need to stand upright when the world tries to strip us everything to take everything in us and use us for their benefit. God wants to give us full rest, not partial rest, what is so good about partial rest. Imagine God telling you when you come face to face at the end of your life and he says, oh you have no place here with me, I didn’t fully save you, I just gave you some saving, is it really saving then? Saving means: to keep safe or rescue, there is nothing partial about that, it’s a full saving.
Y’all we can live with a steady mind, steady heart, and it’s truly simple. We complicate walking with Jesus, but we also can keep ourselves from the simplicity of the Gospel when we are to deep in to the ways of the world. Romans 12:1-2 tells us, “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
The longer we remain deep in the things of the world the longer and harder it will be to come out of it. God has so much grace and compassion that He hangs warning signs, sends people in our direction to warn us and if we are willing help us walk in the way of the Lord. Look at Pharaoh, His pride was to big, he didn’t want to submit to someone that he knew was greater than him, he didn’t care about Egypt, the people, even his own son, he cared more about the power he had, and that power ended when the waves came crashing back in on the Egyptians.
We can’t wait till it’s too late to be steadfast in the Lord.
We can’t wait till it’s too late to resend and return and rest in the Rock of our Salvation.
He alone steadies us, strengthens us, gives us all we need to remain unfazed by the world and be totally fazed, in love, ignited by the love of God.
As we continue on this journey with God here on earth may we keep our mind stayed on Him, may we abide in His word, and write on our walls, doorposts, hearts, hands, everywhere that we would be dressed in the full armor of God that nothing can get into us, leave no room for the devil to come in, steal, destroy, confuse, kill, because he is waiting like a prowling lion to devour us when we stop abiding, when we stop seeking Him first above all else, when we stop going to him first when things and people try to stir us into a frenzy. Will we trust in God today? Will we stand on the rock of our salvation that keeps us from falling, keeps us from swaying?
We can trust in his faithfulness, that if he says to trust Him with our whole heart, mind, strength and soul, why would he do anything to disapprove himself, then that would mean the whole bible is a lie and we are all pretty much doomed, with no hope of anything after this place we call earthly home. But because He is faithful and true, because we have dated and seen of His goodness, we choose to trust Him in all things concerning our life and those around us, and that we do not have to let anything or anyone faze us to anxiety, or striving for perfection to be loved and seen, but we can trust that we are already loved before anyone saw us, by Him the only one that gave himself for us that we may have hope in Him.
1 Peter 1:13
“Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is reveled at His coming.”
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:8-9
Will you set your mind on him?
Will you think on Him alone?
Think about it right now where does your mind go when you don’t think and set your mind on him?
Make it a PRACTICE, A DAILY SECOND, MINUTE, HOUR RHYTHM to set your mind on Him alone, everything else we think on will cause us to doubt but thinking on Him alone will bring us to a stable mind!
THANKS BE TO GOD!

Be blessed friends and go ignite every space our God gives you the grace to occupy for His name to be praised! ❤
