"as iron sharpens iron may our sparks ignite the world

“Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,” Hebrews 12:28

Unshaken: not disturbed from a firm position or state; steadfast and unwavering.

We can all be honest and say there are things that have indeed tripped us up, given us some anxiety, filled us with fear, given us a million worse case scenarios if we don’t go in this way or that way, and think that our life is over. When I say this, I say it in such a way where I still struggle to this day in where I take my anxieties and fears.

WHERE DO YOU TAKE YOUR FEARS AND ANXIETY’S TOO?

“For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord . His heart is steady; he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.” Psalm 112:6-8

I love this verse.

Who are the righteous?

“but his delight is in the law of the Lord , and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.” Psalm 1:2-6

The righteous are the ones who delight in the word of the Lord. The righteous are the ones who meditate on Him day and night. The righteous are the ones who trust in Yahweh. The righteous are the ones who do not compromise and remaining steadfast in the Lord no matter what is in front of them.

“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

Nobody gets right with God through the performances of the law… there is a divine righteousness — a God-sent, God-given righteousness, that is not through the works of the law, but (verse 22 says) through faith in Jesus Christ, for all who believe. How about you, mothers? This is your day. Is this precious to you? I want it to be. I want the mothers of Bethlehem to be as bold as a lion — forever. Oh, that the mothers of Bethlehem would clasp to your breast the truth of justification by faith more closely than you clasp your dear child. Because then you would become for your children a bold and mighty model of how to stand unshakable and laugh at the future... the righteous who are bold as a lion.

THIS IS THE BEST PARAGRAPH I HAVE VER WRITTEN IN MY LIFE.

Y’all 2 corinthians 5:21 should give us a peace that we simply cannot understand but know without a shadow of doubt that we can rest in it. That despite ourselves God would send his only son to die for us, that we would have hope here on earth that this is not our home but eternity. It is something that I truly can’t comprehend but he tells even in his word that when we come face to face with him, we will understand, we will see very clearly, oh the joy that will be. But when we are not in Him, when we are not walking with him, abiding in Him, resting in Him, we will not be able to truly rest as long as God breathes life into us.

Our verse of the day says, “Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,” … how can we be grateful for something that we are not confident about? how can we be grateful for something when are shaken by every little fear, every little anxiety, every little dark gloom person that gets online and tries to scare us, but don’t we know who is in control of it all? How can we be grateful for the kingdom that is being prepared for us, for quite some time now, but we are still so wrapped up with thinking that this earth is it.

Oh God, help us. We want to be grateful, we want to live a life that is unshaken, undisturbed by circumstances, people, seasons, when it rains and we were expecting sunny skies. Help us to realize that we are righteous in your sight not because of anything we did but because of what you did Jesus, and it is a gift that we can do nothing to earn. We need to walk in the gift of the security we can have in you, the surety, the unwavering daughter and son we can be to the watching world.

Isn’t it beautiful that he sees our ways, he knows our ways when we believe in Him. In Psalm 112 it says, “For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord . His heart is steady; he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.”

It is everywhere in His word and we continue to waver at times. Guys, I promise you I am guilty of it all the time, you can even ask my husband. But, thank God for His grace that he tells to remember, to come to the throne room of grace and ask for his help because He will show us grace and mercy and strengthen us to believe all the more in Him and His deep outstretched arms of love for us. How much longer will we allow this wavering, disturbed, unsteady world to keep us from fixing our gaze on Him and trusting Him with every detail of our lives and the lives of all around us, trusting Him with the joy we are able to have because of His saving grace and love for us.

Today, we can walk unshaken and unfazed by this world, because we have been saved by grace by God and as long as we trust in Him and walk by faith as His Spirit leads us we do not have to be afraid but bold and courageous, “bold as lions.” Today, we can be grateful and praise Him because there is nothing better we can give Him then our full selves as He gave His full selves for us to have full surety of our standing with him today and for eternity!

GO AND BE A SPARK OF INFLUENCE WHEREVER YOU GO AND IGNITE THE WORLD!
